BMW DME / DDE
BMW DDE8
DME and DDE are BMW's names for its engine control units, petrol for the former, diesel for the latter — including when the unit is a Bosch of the MG1/MD1 generation, as on DME8 and DDE8. On those generations, access long meant mailing the unit in; the announcements below track the gradual opening of bench and OBD routes, tool by tool.
What the tools announce
Announcements from the tool vendors whose publications we relay, most recent first. Each line links to the original announcement with its date: an opening announced two years ago says nothing about the version you have installed.
