Pop & bang
Pop & bang (crackle, burble) creates controlled detonations in the exhaust on throttle lift-off, by retarding ignition and keeping a small fuel injection on overrun. Done wrong, it melts catalysts and exhaust valves. Done right, it is a crowd-pleaser that stays mechanically safe.
We calibrate the effect per engine: activation window, RPM range, intensity and duration, with petrol and diesel variants. Tell us how aggressive the customer wants it and whether a catalyst is still fitted.

Frequently asked questions
Does pop & bang damage the engine?
A properly calibrated map keeps exhaust gas temperature and detonation energy within safe limits. We recommend a decat or sports cat for the strongest settings.
Does it work on diesel engines?
Yes, with a diesel-specific strategy. The sound signature is different from petrol but the lift-off effect is clearly there.
Can the customer switch it on and off?
On many platforms we can bind the effect to a driving mode (e.g. Sport only). Mention it when uploading and we will confirm feasibility for that ECU.
