Bosch MDG1
MDG1 is not one more family: it is the name tool vendors give to MD1 and MG1 units carrying the stronger protection introduced on ECUs built from 2020 onwards. The announcements below report it at BMW and Mini, Mercedes-Benz and Porsche. The unit's actual reference is still an MD1 or an MG1; what changes is the access procedure, and that is exactly what those announcements describe.

Flex 8.17.0.0 opens Boot Glitch on Mercedes Bosch MD1CP001 and MG1CP002 units (SPC5777) through Korhex and EMFI: no soldering on the PCB, no components removed. Read/write/checksum of the internal flash, read/write of the internal EEPROM and full backup. FLS0.20 licence or Flex Full FLS0.5 required.
A new Bench solution lets The Genius reach the contents of Bosch MDG1 units on BMW and MINI and carry out programming operations without opening the ECU. Supported units: Bosch MD1CP032 (TC299), MD1CS001 (TC298), MG1CS024 (TC298), MG1CS049 (TC298) and MG1CS201 (TC298).

Flex 8.0.0.0 introduces unlocking and programming of Bosch MDG1 units (Aurix TC2xx) in the workshop: VAG, BMW, Stellantis, Kia/Hyundai and JLR, no RFT.
